With the recent pandemic shaping our new reality, one trend that might stick around for a while is smaller weddings. Perhaps your venue has restrictions require a lower guest count, or less of your guests are able to travel for your wedding. There has been a lot of debate about terms like "micro weddings" and "mini weddings;" whatever you wish to call them, there are definite benefits to smaller weddings.
Smaller Weddings Allow You To Connect With Your Guests
Having a smaller guest count means more time to interact with each person that attends. Visiting 10 tables takes much less time than visiting 20, so not only can you chat with each guest you can also be done quickly and get on the dance floor! Your photos will also be more meaningful since each photo will show a special person rather than a sea of 200 tiny faces.
Smaller Weddings Allow For More Personalization
With fewer guests, you may be able to incorporate special touches like personalized thank you notes at each place setting or a hand-written note in each welcome bag. You may also be able to have more guests participate in the ceremony with a reading or a song. Or, if you're crafty, you can spend more time customizing your own details for the wedding.
Smaller Weddings Allow For Enhancements
If your budget remains the same but your guest count changes, you could add enhancements to your meal like an extra course or a late-night snack. The lower guest count could allow for a welcome party or a post-wedding brunch that wasn't previously planned, or you may be able to add extra decor, lighting, or rentals.
